Chapter 1. The Plan
Through the years of combat, his face was used to the sudden wave of heat and noise from the grenade that was just thrown. Leaning back on the warm moist material of the hive with the pulse rifle in his hand, Rykov looks across the “hall” at Dunya. She had the looks of a young woman in her 20’s, and at the same time, had the hardened appearance from combat. Next to Rykov, leaned Ivan with his flame-thrower at full flare ready to go. Next to Dunya was Dimitri with his Minigun whirring at full power, there was a loud yet bearable whistling coming from his weapon.
The next wave of aliens came running at them, noise and light roared from Dimitri’s Minigun along with everybody else’s guns. Alien after alien exploded in splashes of yellow and green acid blood. A pounce from the back of the wave was enough to get under the firing radius of Dimitri’s Minigun. Before Ivan knew it, he flooded an area near by with napalm to get the alien that had taken off Dimitri’s leg. With another motion quicker than lightning, another alien grabbed Dimitri and dragged him away, knowing they couldn’t hold out much longer, Rykov gave the order to fall back. With a couple more grenades, the three left remaining sprinted as fast as they could.
Occasionally stumbling on the grooves, bumps, and drops in the bone like, yet organic material of the hive.
Running and maneuvering through their home, they spotted their prey quickly, a bright flash and several brothers exploded. Although they don’t have the ability to see or smell, they could feel it in their ESP connections with each other and the Queen. Every time a brother fell, it felt as though an address in every brother’s mind seemed to disappear in a mess of yellow and green. The Queen to felt it each time one of her children would end up missing. Although it was a loss of slight importance, it was of even less importance at the same time, since each alien worked together as a whole. Losing a child to the queen has as much impact to her as clipping our nails is to us.
As they were running, Ivan had an idea, he slowed down slightly to get behind the others, he then pointed his flame-thrower backwards and pulled the trigger. The “hallway” quickly became very bright and the distance between the three, and the aliens quickly increased. The three made out the entrance and straight to the open and waiting APC.
It was very foggy and the immense amount of planet-wide fog made a dark menacing blue color everywhere you looked. It was raining heavily, Rykov and the others seemed to sink in the mud, they had a hard time getting to it, but they eventually leaped into the APC. The driver, and “older” person with ravages and scars everywhere, gunned the gas but to no avail.
The APC jolted and that’s all the motion that the driver got out of it, the attempt at gaining momentum failed. “What the f*ck’s happening! Why aren’t we moving!?” Although Rykov was yelling at him, the driver calmly said as if he didn’t even notice that they were in danger. “We’re literally stuck in the mud.” There was a bright flash of lightning followed by a thunderous clap. Everybody looked out the side of the APC to see several aliens breathing heavily with steam coming out of their mouths as if a demonic force had taken them over and was staring straight at the APC. Although they couldn’t see them, Rykov and the others knew there were other aliens hidden by the darkness of the hive. The APC rocked sideways with a jolt then stopped. Everybody in the APC saw the giant dent in the door; there was a cold, heartless feeling of fear at that time.
The holographic monitor flashed on in front of Ichiro. It showed a man that had thinning gray hair with a grim look on his face. “We are caught in a quagmire and can get no “crackle”ment from the A…” The screen went blank and Ichiro looked at the blank screen with an annoying feeling of uneasiness.
Harrison burst in the door “I heard a hologram come on” he looked at Ichiro’s face “what have those god damned corps gotten into this time?” Ichiro shook his head and turned back to the monitor and traced the origin of the message. “Apparently it came from LV1202.” Just then, Johnson; with hair like fire, burst into the door. “Did I hear somebody mention a Bug Planet?” With a pissed look on his face, Ichiro turned to the others. “Don’t any of you ever knock?” “Nope.” Replied Johnson. It suddenly came to Ichiro, “LV1202 is a bug planet.” Ichiro then knew what the mission was and ran out of the door to get Jones. They had to get ready, and get ready fast. Although the Marines and corps were rivals, they were still human.
The Queen knew this wasn’t an ordinary abduction of hosts, she had to prepare for an up coming battle. Her children feeling her every thought and action instantly went to get more hosts for recuirtments. While the brothers went to their tasks, the Queen had to think of something the humans have never thought of. Suddenly it came to her, and instantly the drones began work on the hive, no questions asked, no complaints, and the brothers even knew exactly what to do.
Some were tunneling, others were sealing passageways with the warm organic material. Within minutes the warrior brothers had various hosts.
Several were somewhat like (earth)dogs with very strong front limbs, another had the build of a (earth)lizard but with long spikes and hair, a few others with wings, some were slow but strong, others were fast but weak. The Queens babies came out like the normal snake-like aliens at first, with only slight differences, several hours passed and the babies turned into more children, complete with hosts features. The Queen’s plans were coming together quite nicely, this is the most likely first battle the aliens will win.
Harrison hopped into the Exo-Loader and began to load the containers of supplies onto the drop ship. Johnson also pulled herself into an Exo-Loader and loaded missiles into the missile pods on the side of the ship. Some of the supply containers Harrison was loading were filled with such things as, Ammo, Tools, Food and what ever else the troops needed.
and of course i named it after myself ;D
